For the fifth consecutive year, Asitis and Inexchange arranged an After Work for knowledge and Network-hungry Students. An appreciated concept where we as a company get the opportunity to show who we are and what we can offer, and help to open doors for the students to the professional life and our companies. In this way, creating relationships with the University’s students early has over the years given us many new, nice colleagues here at Asitis.
During Wednesday evening, Asitis and InExchange were visited by some 30 interested students from the University of Skövde. They had previously been awarded a gold ticket for the evening’s After Work by visiting our exhibitions during the Future Fair at the University of Skövde. Our After Work is a way to keep in touch with the students who have shown an interest in our companies and who, after their education, may create their future career with us.
First step towards the dream job
The visiting students were given a presentation of the companies, a tour of the premises and with it an insight into the different roles that are found in the companies. Creating opportunities for “open house” in this way creates a more relaxed environment for students to meet future employers and colleagues.
Jenny Bergdahl, UX Designer at Asitis, refers to the time she herself was a guest at the previous rounds of Asitis and InExchange After Work, and says that through these visits she got both a good picture of the companies’ business, the opportunity to create networks and the opportunity to in peace and quiet, present themselves and create a picture of who she is before the employers. This led in the first part to summer jobs and later after completed training to a permanent employment with Asitis. Without this opportunity I may have moved from Skövde and completely missed this opportunity, she concludes.
There is a clear recruitment idea behind the arrangement of an annual After Work and contact with the University of Skövde. Being actively involved as a company in contexts where students move is becoming more and more important. We can then take a seat early on as a potential employer and an attractive workplace, which increases the chances of valuable recruitments and the possibility of capturing future stars.
